The 2024 Vosne-Romanée Village includes just 10% stems this year. This has an open-knit bouquet with cranberry and raspberry fruit, just a touch of rooibos tea/bergamot evolving with aeration. Delicate but delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with very pliant tannins, silky smooth with a bright tensile finish, veins of blue fruit lingering on the aftertaste. Superb.
Discreet wood sets off the overtly spicy aromas of plum and purple fruit along with a floral hint. The delicious and vibrant flavors possess a velvety, even seductive, mid-palate yet manage to retain good delineation on the moderately austere and sneaky long finale. One to definitely consider if you can find it.
No whole bunches, a question of tank space. Two plots in Réas and one in Rivière, the former responsible for 17 barrels out of the 20. Quite a pale colour with a lacy nose of some delicacy. A lovely strawberry/raspberry fruit with a useful crunch to finish. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2025.
