The 2024 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru has around 40% whole cluster this year. It has an open bouquet with red cherries and bergamot scents, a little more mineralité than other cuvées. The palate is medium-bodied with insistent grip, quite minerally and excellent tension with a sapid finish. Very classy and very persistent.
Pungent aromas of reduction and wood toast mask everything but glimpses of spice nuances. By contrast, there is excellent freshness to the gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors that possess a beguiling inner mouth perfume before tightening up noticeably on the powerful, serious and compact finale. This is also very promising.
A lively ruby, slowly building in perfume on the nose. There is a fine linear intensity to this wine without going to extremes. Shows the oak a bit. Maybe not the full nourishment. A minor reduction. Under half whole bunch.
