Located in the Speyside, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, The Glenfiddich Distillery strikes us as a stunning pictorial image. Glenfiddich is Gaelic for “Valley of the Deer”, which explains the iconic brand logo displaying a deer with its stack.

Glenfiddich was founded by William Grant in the year 1886, who adapted the distiller’s knowhow during his employment as an administrator at the Mortlach Distillery. William Grant and his nine children all worked together to construct Glenfiddich from scratch by hand, step by step and stone by stone. After one year of hard labour, the Glenfiddich Distillery started its first operations on Christmas Day in 1887. The distillery then entered a prosperous era, both production- and sales wise. Glenfiddich Single Malt became very much appreciated in Scotland and internationally. Glenfiddich was the first Scottish single malt whisky exported beyond the borders of Scotland. Until this day, Glenfiddich is one of the world’s bestselling whiskies, and has a broad fan base globally.

Since its establishment, the Glenfiddich Distillery’s premises have remained almost untouched in its original shape. Glenfiddich was one of the only six distilleries whose production continued during the early 20th century prohibition in the United States, the largest demanding market. William Grant passed away in the year 1923, but his legacy has been successfully passed on to his ancestors for over a century. At this moment, Glenfiddich Distillery is still family owned by William Grant & Sons as the fifth generation of the Grant family.

Craftsmanship and loyalty to its roots all comes together in Glenfiddich Single Malt's profound and distinctive taste!
